Swiss steak is not a type of steak, but a method of preparing meat by undulating or throbbing the meat to finally braise it. Salisbury steak too is not a steak but is a meat pie made from ground beef with onions and sometimes, mushrooms too. The cube steak is a cut of meat that is usually top round and tenderized by the fierce pounding of a mallet.
