Accountant loses half million to robbers

CAMP OLIVAS – Two armed men took P500,000 cash from a junior accountant along Ninoy Aquino national highway in Barangay Sta. Maria in Mabalacat City on Friday.

Allander Palo, 28, junior accountant of Magna Peak Service Corp., told police that he and his driver Alberto Utlang were on their way to Clark Freeport on board a Mitsubishi FB van when the incident took place.

Upon reaching said village, the suspects on board a motorcycle blocked their path.

The suspects at gunpoint announced the heist and carted the victims’ cash, cellular phones, wallet, van’s registration receipts and other valuables.

The robbers also took the van’s key before they boarded their motorcycle and headed to the east direction towards Magalang town.

Pampanga police director Oscar Albyalde said he has ordered Superintendent Ferdinand Perez, Mabalacat chief of police, to intensify police visibility in the city to prevent the similar incidents.

He added he also instructed Perez to establish more checkpoints in strategic areas to check the movements of criminal elements.
