Foundation hosts International Museum Day celebration today

ANGELES CITY — The Kuliat Foundation Inc. will again host the International Museum Day (IMD) celebration and capability workshop for this year today, Tuesday, bringing together stakeholders from different provinces.
IMD 2012 is a three-day activity that will be held from May 24 to 26 in different provinces and key cities in the country. The theme for 2012 is “Museums in a Changing World, New Challenges, and New Inspirations.”
Since 1977, the IMD has been celebrating all over the world by member countries of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to serve as a reminder of the significant role that museums play in the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
This year, participating museums interpret a topic affecting cultural institutions. IMD is also a good opportunity for museum professionals to meet their public. Museums are at the heart of the system; these institutions serve and develop society.
Activities for the celebration of IMD in Tarlac City include museum visits, as well as lectures on the following topics: The Role of Museums in a New Society, Using the Past to Build the Future, New Media and Innovation.
The seminar will be held at the Museo ng Probinsya, Tarlac City.
Participants will be charged a registration fee of P800, which covers the conference kit, meals (two lunches, one dinner and snacks) and a certificate of attendance.
