Police charge village exec killers

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police filed murder charges against four persons who allegedly shot dead a barangay chief of Pampanga last month.
Senior Superintendent Edgar Tinio, Pampanga police provincial director, said the Arayat police filed the case against Romy Sarmiento of Pulong Daga, San Miguel, Quezon; Marilyn Tumpalan of Barangay San Antonio Pantalan, Cabiao, Lito Sarmiento, also of San Miguel, Quezon; and a John Doe.
Tinio said on Monday they have charged the suspects before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutors in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The suspects were responsible in the killing of Romeo Quiambao, 54, barangay chairman of Sto. Nino Tabuan, Arayat on December 13.
He said the victim was shot in front of Sto. Niño chapel along Gapan-Olongapo road in Barangay Sto. Nino Tabuan, Arayat.
