Riders-in-tandem killed in shootout

CAMP OLIVAS — Riders-in-tandem who refused to stop at a police checkpoint were killed in a shootout in Bacolor town on All Saints’ Day, according to police reports.
The unidentified men were on board a motorcycle without a plate number, police said.
According to police, the two suspects ignored personnel who tried to flag them down at a police checkpoint in Barangay Cabalantian, prompting authorities to chase them.
During the chase, the suspects opened fire, which compelled authorities to fire back.
The encounter lasted for a few minutes, resulting to the suspects’ death.
Police described one of the suspects as around 30 to 40 years old, wearing a plain white T-shirt, khaki shorts and around 5’3” to 5’4” in height.
The other suspect, around 25-35 years old and approximately 5’6” to 5’8” in height, was wearing sleeveless dark brown printed shirt, black and a white and blue checkered short and had tattoo on the upper portion of his arm.
Recovered from the crime scene were one .45 caliber pistol and two live ammunitions with one spent shell still inserted in the chamber; one two-tone .45 caliber firearm with four live ammunitions; one Blue Honda 155 TMX motorcycle without plate number; two empty shells of caliber .45; two empty shells of caliber 5.56 millimeter; one empty shell of caliber 9 mm; three copies of extortion letter with “BagongHukbong Bayan” logo and headings “Palermo Ortanez Command” and at the lowest portion of the letter marked “Ka Terry.”
The said items were taken to the regional police office for further investigation.
A request for cross-matching of the recovered motorcycle was sent to the Land Transportation Office.
The bodies of the suspects will also be subjected to autopsy and paraffin examination.
Central Luzon Police director Senior Superintendent Edgardo Ladao commended the Pampanga Provincial Police Office for a job well done.
He also assured the public that the regional police will continue its campaign to eradicate all forms of criminality within the region.
