Regulation of water refilling station mulled

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Municipal Council saw the need to regulate operation of water refilling stations and the business of selling drinking water in La Trinidad.
Councilor Roderick Awingan proposed ordinance, which is still being deliberated, mulling the creation of La Trinidad Drinking Water Monitoring Committee.
The proposal seeks to create a committee that will undertake regular collection and analysis of water samples, evaluate laboratory results as to their compliance standards, conduct regular or immediate sanitary survey during the existence of a potential cause of contamination, and recommend remedial measures to correct the deficiency of the water system.
The committee is also tasked to provide technical assistance in undertaking remedial measures, if necessary, and to proclaim pronouncement on the latest quality of the drinking water in the locality.
The proposal came from a provision in Chapter II of the implementing rules and regulations of Presidential Decree 856 also known as the Sanitation Code of the Philippines.
The provision states “standards for drinking water and their microbiological and chemical examinations, together with the evaluation or results, shall conform to the criteria set by the National drinking water standards.”

Clark Freeport Zone offers many attractive incentives that collectively make it a good business investment opportunity as well as a wonderful choice for semi- or full-retirement. In addition to the tax incentives of a Freeport Zone, Clark has a remarkably good record in terms of crime rate. In fact, there is no recollection of any major crimes inside Clark Freeport Zone at all and even minor crimes are rare and far between. Whereas traffic and pollution are two major deterrents to retiring, living or setting up a business in major cities in the Philippines such as Manila and Cebu, Clark Freeport are not marred by these problems. Clark is blessed by good infra structures left behind by the Americans built when Clark was their largest foreign airbase.
