The Yuzu has a history of over 1200 years. This fruit has its origins from China in the Yangtze River Region. The Yuzu was brought to Japan by way of the Korean peninsula. When the Yuzu was introduced to Japan, during the Nara Period (year 710), the Japanese farmers grew Yuzu fruits for three purposes, culinary, hot bathing and medicinal.

Yuzu is beautiful year round. In the spring the tree’s foliage produces a white blossom that is enchanting to look at. In the summer the Yuzu fruit start to grow in a healthy green color, adding more texture to the tree. We enjoy sliced and grated green Yuzu rind with salad, and sashimi dishes. It gives a spicy citrus flavor and is truly delicious. In the winter the fruit ripens to a brilliant golden-yellow color, which is the hallmark of this multi-purpose, ornamental tree.
