Accenture not US-owned, Manila-based

AN OFFICIAL of Accenture Philippines, an outsourcing firm based in the Clark Freeport, has clarified reports that the company is US-owned and that it is based in Manila.
Accenture Marketing and Communications officer Arnie T. Alcazar said that “Accenture is neither a US-based firm nor is it based in Manila.”
“Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company with more than 223,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries and that the company changed its place of incorporation to Ireland in 2009,” Alcazar said.
The Accenture Delivery Centers in the Philippines employ over 21,000 people in a total of 14 facilities – 12 in Metro Manila and two in Cebu City, Alcazar said.
The reaction sprouted after the company read the article “3 Clark companies among top global BPO firms” by Reynaldo G. Navales on the July 30 and July 31, 2011 online and newspaper editions of Sun.Star Pampanga.
The article mentioned Accenture as a “US-owned firm based in Manila” ranked No. 1 for four consecutive years as the world’s best outsourcing provider by the Association of Outsourcing Professionals, Alcazar stated.
