Doctor-lawyer wants to be guv

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A 50-year-old medical doctor and lawyer is running for the gubernatorial post of Pampanga.
Jose Cabrera Montemayor Jr. of Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Sto. Tomas in Sasmuan town filed his certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Monday at exactly 5 p.m.
Reportedly the son of Judge Jose Montemayor, the younger Jose (alias “Joey”) was born on February 17, 1962 and is a registered voter in Sto. Tomas, Sasmuan.
His is not affiliated with any political party based on his certificate of candidacy. No certificate of nomination was attached to his COC and was presented to the Comelec.
Comelec officials reached by Sun.Star Pampanga Tuesday said Montemayor told them he was an alternate candidate of former Governor Ed Panlilio.
“He told us that he was one of the choices of the party of Among Ed,” the Comelec officials said.
