CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Five houses from Villa Victoria in this city were razed by a fire, which broke out around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The fire reached the second alarm, officials said.

Fire Officer 1 Avelino Valdez, who investigated the incident, said the blaze started at the house of one Fatima Manalang, 21, whose children played with matches and accidentally set their pillows on fire.
“Nung nagliyab yung unan, mabilis nang kumalat ang apoy (The blaze spread quickly after the pillows were accidentally set on fire),” Valdez said.

Five houses along Puyat Street in Villa Victoria, including that of Manalang’s, were totally consumed by the conflagration.
A concerned resident and employee of Kia Motors identified as Bernie Reyes reported the fire to authorities. He also helped firemen from the City of San Fernando and Guagua fire departments in putting out the blaze.
Estimated damages were not yet determined as of this posting Tuesday.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
