Guiao cites allies, supporters for successful Congress bid

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO–First District congressman-elect Joseller “Yeng” Guiao yesterday expressed gratitude to his benefactors and his constituents for the overwhelming votes to help him topple his rival Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno.

In a radio interview, Guiao extended his gratitude to re-elected Governor Lilia G. Pineda and son, vice governor-elect Dennis Pineda, and Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, among others.

He said they helped and supported his candidacy for congressman in the First District.
The neophyte congressman also cited the local chief executives of Mabalacat City and Magalang town, his leaders, supporters and the members of the Iglesia ni Cristo for trusting him with their votes.

“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa lahat ng sumuporta sa ating kampanya sa nakaraang halalan. Asahan niyo po na ang lahat ng ating ipinangako ay pagtatrabahuhin natin para sa ikauunlad ng Unang Distrito,” Guiao added.

Guiao furthered that within the first months of his office, he will conduct a consultative meeting in preparation of the first bill he will file in Congress, which is the conversion of the Clark Freeport Zone into an authority.

He said he will meet with concerned stakeholders, even as his group of lawyers are now studying the pros and cons of Clark being an authority.
The conversion of Clark into the Clark Development Authority is Guiao’s flagship initiative upon assumption of office in Congress come June 30.
