The bikers passed by the landmarks of the city including the Friendship Highway, the boundary between Porac and Angeles, Sto. Rosario Church, Angeles–San Fernando boundary, Pulung Bulu bridge, San Nicolas market, Angeles City hall and Bayanihan Park.
Two bamboo bikes, which were built by Hermie Pineda, were also showcased during the bike event.

The following day, June 5, the “Takbo Para sa Tagumpay” fun run was held.
A total of 1,004 registered runners entered the 3k, 5k and 10k run categories.
Officers and men from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and students from various private and public schools, private and civic organizations took part in the run.

Both activities which started at the main entrance of SM Clark are part of the city’s celebration dubbed “Turning Tragedy into Triumph”, which is a commemoration of Angeleños’ resiliency and victory over the devastating effects of the Pinatubo eruption in 1991.

“We painfully remember the devastation, and at the same time, give tribute to our joint efforts by celebrating how we got back on our feet from the throes of the calamity,” Pamintuan said.

Other activities in line with the city’s commemoration of Mt. Pinatubo’s 20th anniversary include the “On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest” on June 14 at SM City Clark. Invited participants are grade school and high school students.

On June 15, after a Eucharistic celebration at 8 a.m., a groundbreaking ceremony for the phoenix bird monument named “Angeleño” will be held at the NLEx Rotunda adjacent to Marquee Mall.

This will be followed by the launching of the coffee table book and the opening of the Pinatubo photo exhibit at the said mall.

Photo exhibits and book launching events at SM City Clark and Museo Ning Angeles will also be held on the same day.

On June 16, young students can reveal their writing prowess through the “On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest” which will be held at SM City Clark.

The following day, on June 17, young dancers and rap enthusiasts get to showcase their talents in the “Rap and Dance” contest, also at SM City Clark.

The weeklong commemorative celebration ends with the blessing and inauguration of the Angeles City Dialysis Center on Saturday, June 18.
On the same day, winners of all the Pinatubo-related contests will be awarded at SM City Clark, where a concert featuring renowned singer and songwriter, Noel Cabangon will be also be held.
