Lubao votes bolster win of Kambilan BM bets

LUBAO, Pampanga – This hometown of Gov. Lilia Pineda stayed loyal to her family and their allies, allowing the three Kambilan Ning Memalen Pampanga (Kambilan) official bets for Second District board members to win all the posts based on unofficial final results as of noon on Thursday.

Guagua Councilor Anthony Joseph “Tonton” Songco Torres, who appeared to be the top winner in the race for the three provincial board (PB) seats in the district, said that “the son of Lubao definitely got the highest number of votes in the town.”

Torres was referring to re-electionist Board Member Salvador “Jun” Dimson who edged out Liberal Party (LP) board member bet Leira Buan of Porac for the third seat.

The Second District is composed of the towns of Lubao, Guagua, Sasmuan, Porac, Floridablanca and Sta. Rita.
Dimson got 58,306 votes while Buan had 55,406 based on partial unofficial results.

“When the two were slugging it out with other candidates for the third slot, we knew Board Member Dimson will win because the votes from Lubao have yet to arrive,” said Torres, who thanked “all who supported him and his party mates.”

Lubao has the most number of registered voters among the towns of the Second District.
The delay in the transmittal of results in Lubao was due to defective compact flash cards.

As of press time Thursday afternoon, Torres, Dimson and former Sta. Rita mayor and board member Arthur Salalila were still waiting to be proclaimed as official winners along with former Lubao mayor and vice gubernatorial candidate Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
