Prelate on Arroyo: ‘A woman of great stamina’

April 6, 2011

LUBAO — San Fernando Archbishop Paciano Aniceto lauded the achievements of former President and now second district Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and even called her a “woman of great stamina.”

Aniceto, in his homily during Arroyo’s birthday thanksgiving mass here, said that residents in Pampanga’s second district are fortunate to have a congresswoman that is gifted with energy and zest for government service.

Aniceto said he is happy to see Arroyo still enjoying the fruits of a healthy body despite her age of 64.

“Congresswoman Arroyo is still able to climb the trek to Mt. Pinatubo and juggle the various responsibilities she has as a government official in the province. Her energy is not diminished despite her departure from national office,” Aniceto said.

He also wished Arroyo the best of health, adding Pampanga will benefit more from her projects if the former President remains healthy and full of energy.

Aniceto concelebrated with 30 priests from the province the 64th birthday mass for Arroyo at the San Agustin Parish Church here.

The former President’s spokesperson, Elena Bautista-Horn, said that Arroyo remains a person concerned with details and has continued to handle her government service here first-hand.
